MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri na magdudulot ng mas maraming protesta ang bagong standard map ng China kung saan makikita ang U-shaped 10-dash-line, na magpapabilis umano sa paglikha at pagkumpleto ng code of conduct sa pinagtatalunang South China Sea.
Iginiit ng China, sa bagong labas nitong standard map, ang pag-angkin nito sa malawak na bahagi ng South China Sea, kasama ang West Philippine Sea, na saklaw nh Exclusive Economic Zone ng Pilipinas.
Gayundin, iginiit ng China na saklaw ng teritoryo nito ang Taiwan at northeastern state ng Arunachal Pradesh at ang Aksai Chin region ng India.
“May kasabihan. Misery loves company. Dumami na ang miserable ngayon sa buong mundo, hindi lang ang Pilipinas, sinakop na nila ang India. Nakakagulat po ‘yan, but then again, I think it will solidify support for the arbitral ruling where in [China’s claim] was quashed o hindi ni-recognize ng Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA),” ani Zubiri sa isang press conference nitong Huwbes.
Idinagdag niya na sa pamamagitan nito, makakukuha ang Pilipinas ng mas malaking suporta sa pagtaliwas nito sa aksyon ng China.
Noong 2016, pinaboran ng PCA sa Hague, Netherlands ang Pilipinas sa desisyon nitong , ang bansa ang may exclusive sovereign rights sa West Philippine Sea.
“I think this way, we will be able to galvanize more support from other countries. I think more [nations] will support the Philippines’ stand to condemn and appeal to China not to follow that ridiculous 10-dash line because it violates the sovereignty of not only the Philippines but several countries all around the region,” pahayag ni Zubiri.
“We will not be alone this time,” patuloy niya.
Inihayag ni Zubiri na ang pagsasapinal ng code of conduct sa pagitan ng ASEAN countries ay “very slow” dahil mayroon ding mga bansa sa ASEAN region na “relatively close” sa China.
“But now, with this new 10-dash line, I feel that the code of conduct between ASEAN countries will be accelerated because of this more brazen occupation of several countries and more brazen disrespect for these countries’ sovereignty,” ayon kay Zubiri.
