MANILA, Philippines- Inanunsyo ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) nitong Miyerkules na natukoy nito ang red ride sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Bohol, Samar, Zamboanga del Sur, at Surigao del Sur.
“Shellfishes collected and tested from coastal waters of Dauis and Tagbilaran City in Bohol; San Pedro Bay in Samar; Dumanquillas Bay in Zamboanga del Sur; and Lianga Bay in Surigao del Sur are still positive for Paralytic Shellfish Poison or toxic red tide that is beyond the regulatory limit,” pahayag ng BFAR.
Base sa bureau, hindi ligtas kainin ang shellfish at acetes o alamang mula sa mga nabanggit na lugar.
Binalaan din ng BFAR ang mga indibidwal mula sa mga lugar na ito na huwag manghuli, bumili, magbenta, o kumain ng shellfish at alamang dahil sa red tide toxins.
“Fish, squids, shrimps, and crabs are safe from human consumption provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are remove before cooking,” anang BFAR. RNT/SA
