MANILA, Philippines – Nagdaos ng limang araw na military operational course sa Clark, Pampanga ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at
Canadian Armed Forces.
Nasa 35 mga opisyal mula sa AFP at armed forces ng Bangladesh, Indonesia, Mongolia, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand at Vietnam ang lumahok sa kurso na nagsimula nitong Lunes, Pebrero 13.
“Ambassador David Hartman, Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines graced the event. The Chief-of-Staff, AFP, Gen. Andres Centino, represented by (Marine) Brig. Gen. Noel D. Beleran, the Deputy Chief-of-Staff for Education, Training and Doctrine, J-8 extends his appreciation to the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines and the Department of National Defense of Canada for sponsoring the course,” ani military public affairs office chief Col. Jorry L. Baclor
Idiniin ni Baclor na pinahahalagahan ng ADO ang mas matibay na ugnayan at pakikipagtulungan sa foreign counterparts.
“This is truly significant for the AFP as this marks the robust partnership between the Philippines and Canada that particularly benefits the AFP in terms of capability enhancement,” aniya.
Kamakailan ay sinabi ng Canadian Embassy na umaasa ang Ottawa na maisapinal na at mapirmahan ang defense cooperation deal sa Manila.
Sinisilip din ng Canada ang oportunidad upang pataasin ang partisipasyon nito sa pamamagitan ng Visiting Forces Agreement o Status of Visiting Forces Agreement tulad ng kung ano ang meron sa pagitan ng United States at Australia, sa Pilipinas. RNT/JGC
