50 Chinese ships umaaligid sa Ayungin Shoal – analyst

MANILA, Philippines- Nasa 50 Chinese vessels ang namataan malapit sa Ayungin Shoal bago ang rotation at resupply mission ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa BRP Sierra Madre, ayon sa isang American maritime security analyst.

Sa post sa X (dating Twitter) noong Huwebes, sinabi ni dating United States Air Force official at ex-Defense Attaché Ray Powell na umakyat ang bilang ng Chinese vessels sa Mischief Reef o Panganiban Reef mula noong nakaraang linggo.

“Most of China’s maritime militia rotation deployed to Mischief Reef, where the Qiong Sansha Yu fleet is up from 14 last week to 35 now (+15 smaller ships),” ani Powell.

Posibleng pinananatili ng China ang presensya nito sa nasabing teritoryo hanggang sa susunod na resupply mission ng Pilipinas sa Ayungin Shoal, kilala rin bilang Second Thomas Shoal, base kay Powell.

“China may be keeping force levels high there until after the Philippines’ next resupply of nearby 2nd Thomas Shoal,” aniya. RNT/SA
