MANILA, Philippines- May kabuuang 935 pulis ang pinatalsik sa serbisyo habang halos 3,000 iba pa ang pinarusahan dahil sa iba’t ibang offenses mula Jan. 1, 2022 hanggang Aug. 30 ngayong taon, ayon sa Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Martes.
Sinabi ni PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda, Jr. na base ang mga ipinataw na penalty sa resolusyon ng 4,082 kaso bilang bahagi ng disciplinary measures at internal cleansing sa police organization.
“The PNP is strengthening its Internal Disciplinary Mechanism and intensifies efforts in reiterating the Doctrine of Command Responsibility and Police Operational Procedures to every member on the ground. We are bringing across our message to the people that the PNP leadership strongly condemn any wrongdoing of its few misguided members,” ani Acorda.
Bukod sa pagsibak sa 935 pulis, may kabuuang 242 din ang na-demote habang 1,850 ang nasuspinde.
Samantala, may kabuuang 159 pulis ang pinrusahan sa pamamagitan ng forfeiture ng sweldo, 680 ang nasita, habang hinarang ang pribilehiyo ng iba pa.
“This significant step underscores the PNP’s unwavering vow to ensuring that its personnel adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity,” pahayag ni Acorda.
“It leaves a powerful note that those who engage in unlawful activities and misdemeanors will face the appropriate consequences, including dismissal from the service when necessary,” dagdag niya.
Binigyang-diin din ni Acorda ang patuloy na paglilinis ng PNP sa hanay nito at pagtugis sa ilang corrupt na pulis, dahil mas marami umano ang natitirang marangal sa kanila. RNT/SA
