MANILA, Philippines – Muli na namang nagpakawala ng flares ang China sa eroplano ng Pilipinas sa pagpapatrolya nito sa Zamora Reef at Scarborough Shoal sa West Philippine Sea.
Ayon sa National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS), ang flares ay pinakawalan mula sa Zamora Reef target ang Cessna 208B Grand Caravan plane ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) noong Agosto 22.
“The People’s Republic of China (PRC) launched flares from their militarized reclaimed island in Zamora Reef, within the territorial sea of Pag-asa Island,” saa sa pahayag ng task.
Ang BFAR plane “was tasked with monitoring and intercepting poachers encroaching upon the Philippines’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and the territorial seas of the maritime features constituting the Kalayaan Island Group.”
“While the BFAR was conducting the routine patrol, the PRC unjustifiably deployed flares from Zamora Reef,” pagpapatuloy pa nito. RNT/JGC
