MANILA, Philippines – Aabot sa P4.9 milyong halaga ng tulong pangkabuhayan ang naipamahagi na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 5 – Bicol Region sa may 245 na magsasaka at mangingisda sa rehiyon ng Bicol na pawang nasalanta ng magkakasunod na bagyo na dumating sa bansa.
Ayon kay Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) Assistant Secretary at Spokesperson Irene Dumlao, ang cash aid na ipinaabot ng ahensya ay upang matulungang makarekober ang mga magsasaka at mangingisda.
“The DSWD assures our kababayans that all forms of assistance, within the mandate of the Department, shall be provided to them until they attain full recovery,” sabi ni DRMG Asst. Secretary Dumlao.
Nakatanggap ng halagang Php20,000 Livelihood Settlement Grant (LSG) ang bawat benepisyaryo mula sa coastal town ng Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte. Ang LSG ay nasa ilalim ng Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) ng DSWD.
“The provision of the LSG through the SLP is one of the DSWD’s ongoing commitments to empower vulnerable communities and strengthen economic resilience across typhoon-hit areas,” sabi pa ni Asst Secretary Dumlao.
Ang SLP ay isa sa pangunahing programa ng DSWD na nagbibigay ng livelihood assistance upang matugunan at maalalayan ang mga naapektuhang pamilya at indibidwal dulot ng kalamidad. (Santi Cellario)
