SoKor President Yoon pinabababa na sa pwesto sa martial law decree

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA- Nagsumite ang opposition parties ng South Korea nitong Miyerkules ng mosyon upang i-impeach si President Yoon Suk-yeol sa saglit na martial law inalis matapos bumoto ang mga mambabatas laban dito.

Kinakailangan ng suporta ng two thirds ng parlyamento at anim na hukom ng nine-member Constitutional Court ang pagpapatalsik kay Yoon.

Maaaring pagbotohan ang mosyon na isinumite ng main opposition Democratic Party at limang mas maliliit na opposition parties sa Biyernes.

“The parliament should focus on immediately suspending the president’s business to pass an impeachment bill soonest,” pahayag ni Hwang Un-ha, isa sa mga miyembro ng parlyamento sa koalisyon.

Inihirit din ni ruling People Power Party chair Han Dong-hun na magpaliwanag si Yoon sa kanyang desisyon, tanggalin si Defense Minister Kim Yong Hyun, na aniya’y nagrekomenda ng martial law decree kay Yoon, at pagbaba sa pwesto ng buong Gabinete.

“President Yoon Suk-yeol’s martial law declaration was a clear violation of the Constitution. It didn’t abide by any requirements to declare it,” pahayag ng Democratic Party. “His martial law declaration was originally invalid and a grave violation of the Constitution. It was a grave act of rebellion and provides perfect grounds for his impeachment.”

“Even if martial law is lifted, he cannot avoid treason charges. It was clearly revealed to the entire nation that President Yoon could no longer run the country normally. He should step down,” ayon naman sa senior Democratic Party member ng parlyamento na si Park Chan-dae.

Nagdeklara si South Korea President Yoon Suk Yeol noong Disyembre 3 ng martial law, kung saan inakusahan ang oposisyon ng pagiging “anti-state forces” at sinabing pinoprotektahan lamang niya ang bansa mula sa mga banta ng Norte. RNT/SA
