MANILA, Philippines – Napanatili ng Tropical Storm Salome ang lakas nito habang binabagtas ang katubigan ng Sabtang, Batanes.
Ayon sa PAGASA, taglay ng bagyo ang lakas ng hangin na 65 kilometro kada oras malapit sa gitna at pagbugso na hanggang 90 kilometro kada oras.
Kumikilos ito sa direksyong south southwestward sa bilis na 20 kilometro kada oras.
Dahil dito ay isinailalim sa Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 ang Batanes.
Nasa ilalim naman ng Signal No. 1 ang western portion ng Babuyan Islands (Calayan Is., Dalupiri Is., Babuyan Is.) at northwestern portion ng Ilocos Norte (Bangui, Pagudpud, Burgos, Pasuquin, Bacarra, at Laoag City).
“Salome is now passing close over Batanes and is forecast to move generally southwestward throughout the forecast period due to the high pressure area over mainland China. This weather disturbance may also pass close or over the Babuyan Islands by this morning and over Ilocos Norte by noon or afternoon,” ayon sa PAGASA. RNT/JGC
