MANILA, Philippines – Siniguro ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) nitong Miyerkules, Oktubre 22 na walang dokumentong may kaugnayan sa flood control projects ang naapektuhan sa sunog na sumiklab sa opisina ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sa Quezon City.
“As per record now, the burning in Quezon City does not involve flood control projects,” sinabi ni ICI chairman Andres Reyes Jr. sa pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights on Senate Bill No. 1215, na naglalayong likhain ang Independent People’s Commission (IPC).
“But we have to secure all records of the COA (Commission on Audit) because… I know that there’s a tendency for criminals to burn down the office,” dagdag pa niya.
Nauna nang kinumpirma ng DPWH na walang dokumentong may kaugnayan sa nagpapatuloy na imbestigasyon sa mga anomalya sa flood control ang naapektuhan ng sunog.
Nitong Miyerkules ay sumiklab ang sunog sa Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) building ng DPWH sa NIA Road sa Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City.
Umabot sa ikatlong alarma ang sunog bago tuluyang naapula 1:34 ng hapon.
Ayon sa DPWH, ang naturang opisina ay “responsible for the conduct of research, studies, pilot testing, and formulation of policies for government infrastructure projects.” RNT/JGC
