MANILA, Philippines – Ipinag-utos ni Philippine National Police (PNP) acting chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. sa Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at ilang lokal na police units na maging handa sakaling maglabas ng warrant of arrest laban sa akusado sa kaso ng mga nawawalang sabungero.
“The PNP is always ready to enforce the law once the proper judicial processes are completed. Kapag may inilabas na warrant of arrest, the PNP will immediately act in coordination with the concerned units and the courts to ensure its proper and lawful implementation,” ayon kay Nartatez.
Noong Martes, sinabi ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na ang reklamong pagpatay na inihain laban sa negosyanteng si Charlie “Atong” Ang at iba pang indibidwal sa mga nawawalang sabungero ay isinumite na para sa resolusyon.
“The panel declared that the preliminary investigation is already submitted for resolution… That is after the complainant manifested that they are not filing a reply to the counter-affidavits of the respondents,” saad ni Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Charlie Guhit.
Ang reklamo ay para sa kidnapping, serious illegal detention at multiple murder, bukod sa iba pa.
May kabuuang 57 respondents ang naghain ng kanilang counter-affidavits, kabilang sina Ang, aktres na si Gretchen Barretto, at dating hepe ng National Capital Region Police Office na si retired Police General Jonnel Estomo, na itinanggi ang mga paratang.
Kasunod nito, maglalabas ng resolusyon ang panel of prosecutors kung idi-dismiss o isasampa sa korte ang reklamo.
Noong Agosto 1, inihain ang multiple murder, serious illegal detention, enforced disappearance, direct bribery, at obstruction of justice laban kay Ang at iba pa.
Itinanggi ni Ang ang mga akusasyon laban sa kanya, at ang kanyang kampo ay nagpahayag ng pag-asa na ang kanilang pagnanais na ibalik ang reklamo sa PNP ay maipagkakaloob, na nagsasabing ang ebidensya na isinumite ay “walang sapat na kredibilidad.” RNT/MND
