MANILA, Philippines – Naitala ang minor phreatomagmatic eruption sa Bulkang Taal nitong Biyernes, Enero 9.
Ayon sa PHIVOLCS, nangyari ang minor eruption sa main crater ng Taal na natapos bandang 7:15 ng gabi.
“This event generated a 900-meter plume that drifted southwest, as captured by the thermal camera of the Daang Kastila Observation Station (VTDK) on the northern rim of the Main Crater,” sinabi ng Phivolcs.
“A precursory signal preceded the event by almost six minutes as recorded by the Calauit Observation Station (VTCT) on the southeastern Volcano Island,” dagdag pa nito.
Huling nagkaroon ng minor phreatomagmatic eruption ang Bulkang Taal noong araw ng Pasko, na may apat na pulses at tumagal ng dalawang minuto.
Nananatili sa Alert Level 1 o low-level unrest ang Bulkang Taal. RNT/JGC
