ALBAY CITY, Philippines – Dalawampu’t siyam (29) na katao ang inaresto ng pulisya matapos salakayin ang isang jueteng operation sa Barangay Sipi, Daraga, Albay.
Ayon kay Police Brig. Gen. Erosito N. Miranda, regional director ng Bicol police, isinagawa ang operasyon matapos makatanggap ng mga ulat mula sa publiko at media.
“The suspects were caught on Thursday around 9:24 p.m. while engaged in illegal numbers games and failed to present documents to prove the legality of their activities,” pahayag ni Miranda.
Nasamsam ng pulisya ang mga jueteng booklet na may label na “CODE 128 Collection Report Form,” mga columnar pad na may kombinasyon ng numero, electronic calculators, isang set ng electric tambyolo na may numbered balls, iba pang gambling paraphernalia, at humigit-kumulang P240,000 na bet money.
Dinala ang mga suspek at ang mga nakumpiskang ebidensya sa Daraga municipal police station.
Inihahanda na ang mga kasong paglabag sa Presidential Decree No. 1602, na inamyendahan ng Republic Act No. 9287 o Illegal Numbers Game Law, laban sa mga naaresto.

Police Regional Office 5 remains committed to relentlessly pursuing illegal gambling activities that undermine peace and order.
