MANILA, Philippines – Itinanggi ng dating pinuno ng Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG), si Raymund Dante Lachica, ang mga akusasyong iniuugnay siya sa Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) at drug money.
Sa kanyang pahayag, sinabi ni Lachica na ang mga alegasyon ni Ramil Madriaga ay “completely baseless.”
Dagdag niya, walang matibay na ebidensya ang mga paratang ng kampo ni Madriaga, na nagsabing siya ay dating aide ni Sara Duterte, at inilabas umano ang mga ito sa publiko bago pa masuri ng tamang awtoridad.
“The accusations linking my name to supposed ‘POGO money,’ ‘drug money,’ and other alleged irregularities are completely baseless,” ani Lachica.
Sinabi rin niya na ang mga alegasyon ay kumalat sa media at nagdulot ng maling impresyon na may nagawang mali kahit wala pang due process.
“These allegations were widely discussed in media platforms, creating a misleading narrative that wrongdoing had already been established. This kind of trial by publicity undermines fairness and damages reputations without due process,” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon kay Madriaga, ang mga drug dealer at POGO umano ang nagpopondo sa kampanyang “Inday Sara Duterte is My President (ISIP) Pilipinas.” Sinabi rin niyang nakatrabaho niya sina Lachica at Col. Dennis Nolasco sa pagbibigay ng security at transport services, kabilang ang paglipat ng malaking halaga ng pera mula Hulyo 2022 hanggang Abril 2023.
Ang mga alegasyong ito ay isinama sa impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte. Gayunman, paulit-ulit itong itinanggi ng Bise Presidente at sinabing si Madriaga ay maaaring “acting out of desperation” upang makalaya sa detensyon.
Sinabi ni Lachica na dinala na ang usapin sa tamang awtoridad kung saan maaaring suriin ang ebidensya at malaman ang katotohanan.
“I remain confident that the legal process will ultimately reveal the truth and expose the baseless nature of these accusations. I also urge all parties to respect the ongoing legal proceedings and refrain from further attempts to litigate this issue in the court of public opinion,” aniya.
“The public deserves the truth—and the truth will come out through the proper process of law,” dagdag pa niya.
Samantala, noong Miyerkules, sinabi ng House justice committee na may sapat na batayan ang dalawang impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte.
Kabilang sa mga paratang laban sa Bise Presidente ang betrayal of public trust at culpable violation of the Constitution, kaugnay ng umano’y maling paggamit ng P612.5 milyong confidential funds at pagbabanta umano kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at sa kanyang pamilya. RNT/MND
