“Students from public schools, including public science high schools, now comprise 57.1% of our qualifiers from public schools compared to 42.5% from private schools. This increase in qualifiers from public schools has been a consistent trend over the past few years. And this year it continues to move in the same direction,” aniya.

“This trend suggests that steps we’ve taken to democratize access to quality UP education are beginning to make an impact in meaningful and measurable ways,” dagdag pa ni Jimenez.

“These moments remind us why the University of the Philippines exists; not only to teach, not only to discover and to innovate but to open pathways for the next generation of Filipino leaders,” dagdag pa ni Jimenez. Santi Celario
