MANILA, Philippines – Pormal nang nagsumite ng “entry of appearance” ang House prosecution panel sa Senado bilang Impeachment Court kaugnay ng nalalapit na paglilitis laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte, matapos manumpa at mag-convene ang Senado bilang impeachment tribunal.
Ang “Formal Entry of Appearance” ay personal na inihain ni House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil sa ngalan ng 11 miyembrong prosecutors na inihalal ng Kamara.
“The undersigned members of the House of Representatives, duly elected by the House of Representatives as members of the prosecution panel, respectfully enter their appearance as Public Prosecutors,” nakasaad sa dokumento.
Sa nasabing filing, itinalaga si House Committee on Justice Chair at Batangas 2nd District Rep. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro bilang lead public prosecutor, at hiniling na ang lahat ng komunikasyon ng korte ay ipadala sa pamamagitan ng Office of the House Secretary General.
“It is, thus, respectfully requested that, henceforth, all copies of all pleadings, resolutions, decisions, notices, and other processes of this Honorable Court be furnished to the Lead Public Prosecutor, Representative Gerville R. Luistro,” dagdag pa ng pleading.
Nilagdaan ang dokumento nina Luistro at mga House prosecutors na sina Reps. Terry Ridon, Ramon Rodrigo Gutierrez, Ysabel Maria Zamora, Lorenz Defensor, Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno, Leila de Lima, Arlene “Kaka” Bag-ao, Jonathan Keith Flores, Lordan Suan, at Joel Chua.
Ang hakbang ay kasunod ng boto ng Kamara na 257-25, may siyam na nag-abstain, para i-impeach si Vice President Duterte at ipadala ang Articles of Impeachment sa Senado.
Kabilang sa mga paratang laban sa kanya ang umano’y maling paggamit ng confidential funds, unexplained wealth, bribery, at pagbabanta laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, at dating Speaker Martin Romualdez.
