MANILA, Philippines – Nagsagawa ang House of Representatives nitong Martes ng 1st SONA Inter-agency Coordination Meeting para sa State of the Nation Address (SONA) 2026 ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na gaganapin sa Hulyo.
Ayon kay House Secretary General Atty. Cheloy Garafil, dapat ay “simple but dignified” ang magiging tema ng SONA ngayong taon.
“The operative word for this year, I think, will be a simple SONA in keeping with the times,” ani Garafil.
Dagdag pa niya, “There’ll be no red carpet, no long gowns. As you can see in the invitations that we’ve prepared, we’ve specifically mentioned that we’ve encouraged, urging everyone, especially the ladies, to just wear simple Filipiniana dress. Even some of the preparations that we’ve done are all geared towards keeping it simple but still dignified.”
Ayon sa kanya, mahalaga ang SONA bilang isang pangunahing kaganapan para sa administrasyon at sa buong bansa kaya dapat itong maging maayos at simple ngunit marangal.
Dumalo sa pagpupulong ang mga opisyal mula sa iba’t ibang ahensya kabilang ang Presidential Management Staff, Presidential Communications Office, Office of the Presidential Protocol, Presidential Legislative Liaison Office, Presidential Broadcast Staff-RTVM, MMDA, Office of the President, DFA, AFP, PNP, at Presidential Security Command, pati na rin si Senate Secretary Atty. Renato Bantug Jr.
Nagbigay ng light remark si Bantug sa kanyang opening statement na ikinatawa ng mga dumalo.
“I never really imagined that I’d be back here again especially under these circumstances but obviously, I wasn’t given much time to miss all of you. So whether you like it or not, I’m back,” aniya.
Pinasalamatan din niya ang House at tiniyak ang kooperasyon ng Senado para sa matagumpay na SONA 2026.
Ang SONA ay taunang ulat ng Pangulo sa Kongreso na isinasagawa tuwing ika-apat na Lunes ng Hulyo, at sa taong ito ay nakatakda sa Hulyo 27. Ito ay mandato ng Konstitusyon kung saan iniuulat ng Pangulo ang kalagayan ng bansa at mga prayoridad ng administrasyon. RNT/MND
