MANILA, Philippines – Kinondena ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Naga City ang insidente sa Mt. Isarog National Park sangkot ang isang tour guide, na umano’y pumasok sa tent ng isang hiker nang walang permiso at hinarass ang mga ito.
Sa pahayag nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 24, kinondena ni Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo ang insidente at tinawag itong hindi katanggap-tanggap at dapat maparusahan.
“This conduct does not reflect the standards of safety, professionalism, and respect required by the City Government and expected of all persons serving visitors to Mt. Isarog Natural Park,” sinabi ni Robredo.
Ang tour guide na sangkot ay newly hired job order personnel umano mula sa Public Safety Office (PSO) na isang buwan pa lamang nagtatrabaho.
Inalis na ito ng lokal na pamahalaan sa lahat ng assignments nito.
Nasa proseso na rin ang LGU sa pagputol sa kanyang kontrata.
“The City has permanently barred the individual from participating in any City-sponsored, City-endorsed, or City-accredited tour or hiking activity. The City is likewise formally requesting the Mt. Isarog Natural Park Protected Area Management Board and the [Department of Environment and Natural Resources] to impose the appropriate access and accreditation restrictions within the protected area,” pahayag ni Robredo.
Binuo ang task force para imbestigahan ang insidente.
Nakipag-ugnayan na rin ang Gender and Development Office sa biktima para magpaabot ng tulong.
Dahil sa insidente, sinabi ni Robredo na magsasagawa ang lokal na pamahalaan ng mas mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng alcohol ban, mandatory refresher training course, gender sensitivity at ethics training sa mga tour guide.

We will continue to uphold the highest standards of accountability and ensure that our natural parks remain safe, secure, and welcoming spaces for residents and visitors alike,” anang alkalde.
