MANILA, Philippines — Tiniyak ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na handa ang Commission on Elections at iba pang stakeholder para sa unang regular na parliamentary elections sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao sa Setyembre 14.
Sa kaniyang ikalimang State of the Nation Address sa harap ng joint session ng Kongreso noong Lunes, sinabi ni Marcos na mahalagang tagumpay sa ilalim ng Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro ang makasaysayang halalan.
“In accordance with Republic Act No. 12317, the BARMM electorate is now poised to partake in BARMM’s first regular parliamentary elections — a critical accomplishment under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro,” pahayag ni Marcos.
Dagdag niya, handa ang Comelec, mga law enforcement agency, volunteer, deputized agency, at iba pang stakeholder upang matiyak na “this defining political exercise will be peaceful, orderly, and credible.”
“May these inspiring developments strengthen our collective belief in the unity and indivisibility of the Filipino nation amid our individual diversity,” sinabi ng Pangulo.
Natapos ng Comelec noong Linggo ang paglilimbag ng 2,393,202 official ballots para sa halalan sa National Printing Office sa Quezon City.
Sasaklawin ng botohan ang Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, at Tawi-Tawi, gayundin ang Special Geographic Area na binubuo ng 63 barangay sa North Cotabato.
Saklaw din ng halalan ang 32 distrito, tatlong lungsod, 105 munisipalidad, at 2,185 barangay. RNT
