MANILA, Philippines — Sa kabuuan ay naging mapayapa at maayos ang ikalimang State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. nitong Lunes at walang naitalang marahas na insidente, ayon kay Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
“No untoward or violent incident was recorded throughout the conduct of the annual significant event,” pahayag ni Nartatez.
Iniugnay niya ang maayos na pagtatapos ng SONA sa koordinadong paghahanda sa seguridad ng PNP, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection, at Quezon City local government.
“Our sacrifices from planning to the implementation of security measures up to the last hours paid off and this would not have happened without the dedication and hard work not only of our personnel but also of our partners from other agencies,” sinabi ni Nartatez.
Mahigit 20,000 pulis ang ipinakalat sa buong Metro Manila upang bantayan ang mahahalagang pasilidad ng pamahalaan at pangunahing lansangan, tumulong sa pamamahala ng trapiko, at makipag-ugnayan sa iba pang ahensiya.
“Let me express my gratitude and commendation to all police units and personnel who took part in ensuring that this year’s SONA is conducted peacefully and orderly,” pahayag ni Nartatez.
Pinuri rin niya ang mga grupong nagsagawa ng rally at iba pang aktibidad dahil sa kanilang pakikipagtulungan at pagsunod sa mga patakaran.
Sinang-ayunan ni National Capital Region Police Office chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin ang pahayag na natapos ang SONA nang walang hindi kanais-nais na insidente.
Gayunman, sinabi ng pulisya na 51 katao ang nahuling umano’y nagsasagawa ng bandalismo, kabilang ang 13 menor de edad at tatlong paralegal. Santi Celario
