MANILA, Philippines – Tetestigo si dating Speaker Martin Romualdez sa kanyang plunder case sa Sandiganbayan, ayon kay Atty. Ade Fajardo nitong Biyernes, Setyembre 25.
Tinawag ni Fajardo si Romualdez bilang kanilang ‘most important witness’ at nais ng dating Speaker na depensahan ang sarili sa korte.
“Of course, the most important [witness] is the accused himself, Congressman Romualdez,” sinabi ni Fajardo sa ambush interview matapos ang pretrial proceedings sa korte.
“He wants to defend himself in court and he will most likely testify and is about to be listed as actual witness when it is the turn of defense to present its evidence,” dagdag pa niya.
Noong Setyembre 7 ay inilabas ang warrant of arrest ng korte laban kay Romualdez, dating Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co at dalawa iba pa sa plunder sangkot ang umano’y kickback na nagkakahalaga ng P7.44 bilyon. RNT/JGC
