MANILA, Philippines – Inaprubahan ng Commission on Appointments (CA) nitong Martes, Mayo 16, ang ad interim appointments ng 50 pang heneral at flag officers ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Kasabay ng deliberasyon, binanggit ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri ang pangangailangan ng modernisasyon sa AFP at ang pagiging fully equip nito, “at the soonest possible time.”

“We have to retrofit our Navy with better ships. They need corvettes, they need larger ships that can be maintained at sea for longer periods of time,” aniya.

“We are also working at hopefully a down payment for our Air Force jets… new combat jets, as well as new equipment for our Army,” pagtatapos ng senador. RNT/JGC
