MANILA, Philippines- Inilahad ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang adbokasiya ng Pilipinas para sa ‘rule of law’ at kapayapaan na magiging daan para mapabuti pa ang ugnayan sa United Nations.
“Our advocacies in the Indo-Pacific and in the global arena for the rule of law and the peaceful settlement of disputes also provide opportunities for a more substantive engagement with the United Nations,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang talumpati sa idinaos na paglagda sa United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2024-2028.
“These novel aspects of the UNSDCF show how our partnership has evolved. It is now infused with a more mature and outward-looking synergy of efforts, serving the interests of both the Philippines and the United Nations as we work for a safer and more prosperous world,” dagdag na wika ng Pangulo.
Ang UNSDCF aniya pa rin “signifies our role in shaping more inclusive and effective multilateral institutions that embrace and bring tangible results to us all.”
“The UNSDCF also acknowledges how the Philippines’ best practices and experience, which we have established over decades can help the achievement of the SDG agenda elsewhere through South-South Cooperation platforms,” lahad ni Pangulong Marcos.
Tinuran pa ng Chief Executive na kinikilala ng UN ang “peacebuilding milestones in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao” ng Pilipinas.
Sa kabilang dako, pinuri naman ng Pangulo ang Department of Foreign Affairs, National Economic and Development Authority, at UN Resident Coordinator’s Office para sa paglikha ng pinakabagong balangkas na naglalayon “to deepen, expand, and elevate” ang partnership sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at United Nations.
Samantala, ang mga lumagda naman sa balangkas ay sina DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan at Gustavo González bilang Resident Coordinator of the UN in the Philippines.
Kabilang sa ‘strategic priorities’ ng UNSDCF 2024-2028 ang human capital development, sustainable economic development, climate action, at environmental sustainability, at iba pa. Kris Jose
