Agarang pagpapauwi sa 3 OFW na nasawi sa Kuwait fire, ipinag-utos ni PBBM

MANILA, Philippines – Ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang agarang pagpapauwi sa labi ng tatlong overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) na nasawi sa sunog sa Kuwait, sinabi ni Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

Ayon kay Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac nitong Sabado, Hunyo 15, pinagsisikapan na ng kagawaran ang pagpapauwi sa tatlong biktima at nakikipag-ugnayan na rin sa kanilang mga pamilya.

“We are working on the return of the three fatalities and we’re in touch – based on the Presidential directive – with all the families of the three fatalities,” sinabi ni Cacdac sa isang news forum.

Ang tatlong OFW ay kabilang sa 11 OFWs na nakatira sa gusali para sa mga manggagawa ng isang Kuwait construction company.

Sa kasalukuyan ay nasa kritikal na kondisyon pa rin ang dalawa iba pang OFW.

“Hopefully, they will recover very soon,” ani Cacdac.

Ligtas naman ang anim iba pa.

“As for the six na safe, we are working for their repatriation. But also, we are giving them the option whether or not they wish to continue work[ing] in Kuwait. Kasi karamihan no’ng safe ay on duty noong panahon na ‘yun.” RNT/JGC
