MANILA, Philippines- Bukas ang Malakanyang ang pag-apruba ng P100 milyong halaga ng pondo na inilaan para sa 25 innovation projects, kabilang na ang ilang agri-tech solution initiatives.
Sa isang kalatas, sinabi ni Communication Secretary Cheloy Garafil na ang agri-tech solution projects na makatatanggap ng “funding support” mula sa National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) ay makatutulong para maitaas ang food productivity ng bansa.
Ang pahayag na ito ni Garafil ay matapos na ianunsyo ng NEDA na inaprubahan ng National Innovation Council Executive Technical Board nito ang alokasyon na P100 milyon para sa 25 innovation projects sa ilalim ng 2023 Innovation Grants ng ahensiya.
“The 2023 Innovation Grants project is aligned with the efforts to promote local innovation in national development and sustainable economic growth, as outlined under the Republic Act 11293 or the Philippine Innovation Act,” ani Garafil.
Sinabi pa nito na ang Alternative Onion Storage System na gumagamit ng Controlled Temperature and Automatic Air Flow Mechanism na ipinanukala ng Occidental Mindoro State College ay kabilang sa agri-tech solution projects na makakukuha ng funding assistance.
“The ‘Alternative Onion Storage System using Controlled Temperature and Automatic Air Flow Mechanism’ provides for the construction of a warehouse equipped with an air blow storage system, which offers an alternative method to prolong the life span of onions,” aniya pa rin.
Ang Samar State University’s Project GeoMap: Geospatial Mapping and Information System for Precise Farming and Smart Agriculture, at maging ang Eastern Visayas State University’s TABU: A Mobile Application bilang isang E-Commerce Tool para sa Agricultural Industry sa Eastern Visayas, ang gumawa rin ng listahan ng 25 aprubadong proyekto.
“The Philippine Rice Research Institute’s proposed Artificial Intelligence for impact-based forecasting and early warning system for inclusive finance and strengthening of local economic development in Rice-Based Farming Communities was also among the approved agriculture-centered proposals,” ayon kay Garafil.
Inaprubahan din aniya ang Pre-Commercialization of Non-Hold-On Type Decorticating Machine for Abaca na dinebelop ng Forest Products Research and Development Institute ng Department of Science and Technology (DoST), Jose Rizal State Memorial University’s Prototyping and Pilot Testing of Seaweed Harvester; Cebu Normal University’s From Farm to Market: at Co-creating the Cinnamon Industry sa Cebu, Philippines.
Ang iba pang proyekto na nasa listahan ay ang “Batangas Animal Movement Reporting Approach to Control Diseases by Batangas’ provincial government; the University of the Philippines Los Baños’ Enhancement and Deployment of Smarter Pest Identification Technology Mobile Application and Romblon State University’s Establishment of a Bamboo Processing School Factory for Manufacturing Engineered-Bamboo and Steel Student Desks and Chairs.”
Maliban sa agri-tech solutions, ang iba pang proyektong inaprubahan ay ang “augmented reality/ virtual reality (AR/VR) education platforms, smart data-driven policies, disaster preparedness, at cultural heritage preservation.”
Ang tagapagtaguyod ngayong taon ay ang nagmula sa mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan at tanggapan kabilang na ang State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) at Government-Owned and -Controlled Corporations.
Samantala, sinabi ng NEDA na ipakikita ng mga inaprubahang proyekto ang pagiging malikhain ng Filipino innovation actors, at maging ang “vibrant and dynamic landscape” ng inobasyon sa iba’t ibang rehiyon.
