Isinailalim ng provincial government ang Albay sa state of calamity dahil sa aktibidad ng Bulkang Mayon, sinabi ng Provincial Information Office (PIO) nitong Biyernes.
“The Province of Albay is now placed under a STATE OF CALAMITY pursuant to Resolution No. 0607-2023 of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Albay, following the notice issued yesterday by PHIVOLCS raising the status of Mayon volcano to Alert Level 3,” sabi ni Albay PIO sa isang post sa Facebook.
Ang Alert Level 3 ay nangangahulugan ng “increased tendency towards a hazardous eruption,” ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
Ang deklarasyon ng state of calamity ay magpapabilis sa rescue, recovery, relief, at rehabilitation efforts ng gobyerno at pribadong sektor.
Ito rin ang magkokontrol sa mga presyo ng mga pangunahing bilihin at mga pangangailangan at magbibigay-daan sa mga local government units na gamitin ang naaangkop na pondo para sa kanilang rescue, recovery, relief, at rehabilitation measures. RNT
