MANILA, Philippines – Maaaring ipatupad na sa darating na Barangay at SK Elections sa Oktubre ang inamyendahan na Rules of Procedure in Election Contests.
Ito ay matapos aprubahan ng Supreme Court en Banc ang 2023 Amended Rules of Procedure in Election Contests Involving Elective Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Officials.
Ginawa ito upang i-update ang umiiral na rules on election contests na nakabinbin sa mga mababang korte.
Nakapaloob sa 2023 Amended Rules ang mabilis, hindi magastos, tamang determinasyon at disposisyon ng mga election contests.
Nasa 2023 Amended Rules din ang paglalaan ng initial recount ng mga balota ng ipinoprotesta na clustered precincts o mono precincts.
“This initial recount is intended to determine whether the protest is meritorious upon showing by the protestant of at least 20% substantial recovery from the overall vote lead of the protestee.”
