“We have legal issues on our territorial seas that have been adversely affecting subsistence fishermen against foreign intrusion. This is guaranteed to be protected under Section 7, Article XIII of the 1987 Constitution… The IBP has a public responsibility to do its share in making people aware of what the law on the matter is, all geared towards upholding the rule of law in the Philippines,” pahayag ni Pido.Â
“The IBP shall not shy away from speaking with one voice on these legal issues,” dagdag niya.
Miyembro siya ng University of the Philippines College of Law Class of 1982 at bahagi ng Order of the Purple Feather honor society.
Kabilang din sa IBP officers na iniluklok sina: Allan Panolong bilang Executive Vice President and Governor para sa Western Mindanao; Minerva Taguinod bilang Governor para sa Northern Luzon; Kriden Balgomera para sa Governor ng Greater Manila; Annalyn Sherry Hibo-Gamboa bilang Governor para sa Bicolandia; Pitero Reig bilang Governor para sa Southern Luzon; Cres Tan bilang Governor para sa Western Visayas; Marlo Destura bilang Governor para sa Eastern Visayas; PN Trinidad bilang Governor para sa Eastern Mindanao; at Maria Imelda Quiambao-Tuazon bilang bagong officer-in-charge para as IBP Central Luzon.
