Bagong tourism slogan itugma sa ‘country brand’ – DOT

MANILA, Philippines – Dapat ay tugma sa bagong official brand na “We give the world our best” ang bagong tourism slogan ng Pilipinas.

Ito ang sinabi ni Tourism undersecretary for legal and special concerns Mae Elaine Bathan nitong Huwebes, Mayo 18, na bagama’t wala pang opisyal na slogan na nailalabas, umaasa ang Department of Tourism na maipakilala ito sa Hunyo.

Idiniin ni Bathan na ang bagong official brand ng Pilipinas, sa pangunguna na rin ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications (OPACC), ay magsisilbing “statement of fact” tungkol sa ating bansa.

“Definitely, what we have to offer in terms of tourism will have to be aligned with how we brand our country,” pagbabahagi niya sa panayam ng TeleRadyo.

Nilinaw naman ni Bathan na ang kasalukuyang DOT slogan na “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” ay hindi rin kailangang palitan dahil totoo rin ang mga katagang ito.

“We are currently doing a market study to see, and if mapapalitan man, we’ll still continue to put in the element of ‘fun’ in the branding natin and how to market fun in the Philippines while marketing the country through the country branding natin,” aniya.

Kung babalikan, ang long-time signature campaign ng DOT na “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” ay nagsimula pa sa panahon ni dating Pangulong Benigno Aquino III at inilunsad noong 2012 na nakuha mula sa napakaraming suhestyon ng mga tao sa buong mundo.

Ani Bathan, bukas pa rin naman sa suhestyon ang DOT.

“We continue to listen to the rest of the people who are our stakeholders, who will be our tourism ambassadors, and who will help us market and promote our country,” aniya. RNT/JGC
