BONG GO, NHA DISTRIBUTE P13.28-M FIRE VICTIMS

SENATOR Bong Go and the National Housing Authority (NHA) have distributed a total of P13.28-million financial aid to 1,328 Navoteño firevictims.

Go and NHA-National Capital Region, North Sector Regional Manager Jovita Panopio led the distribution of the cash assistance to the beneficiaries together with Mayor John Rey Tiangco, Rep. Toby Tiangco and Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez.

Each beneficiary from the villages of North Bay Boulevard North, Bagong Bayan North, Tangos North, Tangos South, Navotas West, San Roque, Sipac Almacen, Bangkulasi and Daanghari received P10,000 cash assistance through the NHA’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program.

They were victims of fire incidents which occurred from October 2019 to May 2023.

The Tiangco brothers expressed gratitude to NHA General Manager Joeben Tai and Go for always prioritizing their constituents from their assistance programs.

“We are forever grateful to you (NHA and Go) for always providing the much-needed assistance to our poor constituents,” they said.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Tiangco brothers whom they gave the credit for receiving all forms of assistance from other agencies.
Silver TB Award

The city government has bagged the silver award in Treatment Coverage. Rate of Tuberculosis in the Department of Health Race to End TB Annual Awards.

Navotas marked a 93.9% increase in its TB case detection rate in 2022.

Tiangco  thanked the Navotas health workers for going above and
beyond their duty to reach constituents who are suffering from the disease, and provide them with proper and adequate medical care.

“We also call on each Navoteño to join the fight against TB. This disease is contagious, but curable. Patients can avail of its treatment for free at our accredited TB-DOTS centers.” Out of 11 health centers in Navotas, five provide Directly Observed
Therapy for the Treatment of Tuberculosis program.

The DOH noted that the city’s active case finding and with the help of  various health sector stakeholders, led to the significant increase in TB treatment coverage.
