THE latest partnership of the Caloocan City government, Department of Labor and Employment and SM Grand Central Shopping Mall has been specifically forged for a special job fair in anticipation of the higher demand of workforce during the Christmas rush.
Some of the over 5, 000 jobseekers who trooped to the job fair held at the 5th Level of the mall were all gratified by the initiative of the government under Mayor Along Malapitan, DOLE and SM Grand Central as they’re all confident to get hired for the holidays.
“The city government has always been thankful to the massive support of private corporations led by the SM Grand Central management that provided the comfortable venues, among others, for the residents who’ve sought employment,” Malapitan said.
Mall Assistant Manager Alpha Hernandez said they’ve always been committed to collaborate with the local government and partner-companies to help conduct the event that would benefit both employers and job-seeking residents.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for jobseekers to secure employment ahead of the Christmas rush while enabling companies to strengthen their workforce to meet the heightened demand during the festive season,” she said.
“The holiday season holds great significance for us, Filipinos, and having a dedicated and dynamic workforce is the key to making Christmas truly memorable for everyone.”
“We are pleased to collaborate with these esteemed companies that offer thousands of job opportunities. Our goal is not only to bring Christmas cheer but also to help individuals secure employment that can lead to fulfilling careers,” Hernandez added.
Malapitan and the mall management said the job fair not only served as a platform for jobseekers but also highlighted the commitment of companies to meet the demands of the holiday season head-on.
Preliminary results showed that some 237 job seekers were hired on the spot while 725 qualified applicants would be processed for hiring.
