MANILA, Philippines – Nakitaan ng Philippine Coast ng pagbuti sa galaw sa West Philippine Sea ang Chinese Coast Guard at iba pang mga barko sa lugar.
Ayon kay PCG spokesperson Commodore Jay Tarriela, nakatulong ang pagbubulgar ng mga ginagawang panggigipit ng China sa dagat na sakop ng Pilipinas para mas tumino ang mga ito.
“In some features of the West Philippine Sea, we can already see some of the changes of behavior of the Chinese Coast Guard. Before they were aggressive all over the West Philippine Sea,” pagbabahagi ni Tarriela sa panayam ng ANC.
“To be fair, there is already changes of behavior in what we have been doing with the Chinese Coast Guard as we exposed their aggressive actions,” dagdag pa niya.
Sa kabila nito, sinabi ng PCG na mainit pa rin ang Chinese Coast Guard pagdating sa Ayungin Shoal, o tinatawag nilang Ren’ai Reef.
“What is happening in Ayungin Shoal is different from the entire operation of the Chinese Coast Guard and our deployment of the Philippine Coast Guard vessels in the entire West Philippine Sea,” ani Tarriela.
Ang Ayungin Shoal ay pinag-aagawang lugar sa South China Sea na kinokontrol ng Philippine military ngunit sinasabi ng China na pagmamay-ari nila ito. RNT/JGC
