MANILA, Philippines- Kasunod ng mga aksyon ng China sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) kamakailan, sinabi ni Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva na panahon na upang pauwiin sa Beijing ang Chinese ambassador to the Philippines.
“It may be the right time for the Chinese ambassador to be sent home to Beijing and be replaced with someone who would prioritize adherence to international laws,” pahayg ni Villanueva nitong Martes, na tinutukoy si Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian.
Binangga ng China Coast Guard vessel at Chinese maritime militia boat nitong Linggo ang Philippine Coast Guard at chartered boat sa kasagsagan ng resupply mission sa Philippine troops sa Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal sa WPS.
Sinabi ni Villanueva na ang patuloy na agresyon at “illegal activities” ng China sa West Philippine Sea ay hindi katanggap-tanggap.
“The intrusion of the Chinese Coast Guard – hitting and damaging the Philippine navy ships delivering essential supplies in Ayungin Shoal is undoubtedly an escalated form of harassment,” wika ng senador.
Dahil dito, iginiit ni Villanueva na kailangan palakasin at gawing moderno ang Philippine Coast Guard, at inihayag na sa paraang ito ay mas mapoprotektahan ang mga teritoryo ng bansa. RNT/SA
