DAVAO CITY – Gagamitin ang confidential fund (CF) ng Department of Education (DepEd) para sa national security matters, ani Vice President Sara Z. Duterte sa isang panayam dito Lunes.
Sinabi ni Duterte, na siya ring kalihim ng Edukasyon, na ang pangunahing edukasyon at pambansang seguridad ay “magkakaugnay.”
“The youth is the hope of the country. However, they are being recruited [New People’s Army (NPA)], brought to use illegal drugs, criminality, violent extremism, and terrorism. We don’t want the future of the country to be like that,” anang Bise Presidente sa local reporters.
Ang DepEd, aniya, ay may patunay ng recruitment sa marahas na ekstremismo at terorismo sa mga kabataan.
Ang Kanlurang Mindanao, aniya, ay isa sa mga hotspot para sa recruitment ng mga indibidwal at grupo na sumasang-ayon sa marahas na ekstremismo.
Giit pa ni Duterte na ang paggamit ng confidential funds ay may legal na batayan at walang patunay ng maling gawain mula sa Office of the Vice President (OVP) at DepEd para sa paggamit nito.
“It was duly approved by the Congress, and it was dispersed and utilized according to law. As to the approval, we leave it up to the discretion of the Congress and Senate for we can only propose based on what we know based on our work,” aniya pa.
Sa pagtugon sa mga kritiko ng paggamit ng kanyang opisina ng mga kumpidensyal na pondo, sinabi ng Bise Presidente na hinihintay niya si Act Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro na maglabas ng “documented proof” na nagpapakita ng maling gawain.
“They keep on attacking me, and I am just waiting for them to give me something concrete that I did something wrong. They keep on attacking in the hope that the lies they are peddling that I did something wrong would be stuck in the minds of the Filipinos,” pagpapatuloy niya pa.
“Everything is documented, legal, and based on law,” Duterte said. “I am waiting if they have the documents, a case filed or anything, to really show that the OVP is doing wrong.” RNT
