Muling nanawagan ang Alliance of Concerned Truck Owners & Organizations (ACTOO), ang pinakamalaking grupo ng mga trucker sa bansa, na alisin ang container registry and monitoring system o mas kilala sa tawag na TOP-CRMS.
Ayon sa pahayag ng grupo, mayorya ng mga trucker ay kontra sa nasabing sistema.
“The majority of truckers oppose the implementation of this system, citing various concerns about its effectiveness and impact on their operations,” sabi ng ACTOO sa isang statement.
Naniniwala ang grupo na hindi kailangan at pabigat lang sa kanilang hanay ang container registry and monitoring system na nais ipatupad ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).
Nakadaragdag lang din umano sa kaguluhan ang nasabing sistema sa trucking industry bukod sa dagdag- gastos pa ito para sa mga truck owner at operator.
Taliwas sa mga sa sinasabi ng ibang grupo, tiniyak ng ACTOO na mayorya ng mga trucker ay hindi sinusuportahan ang pagpapatupad ng TOP-CRMS.
Sabi ng ACTOO, ang Confederation of Truckers Association of The Philippines (CTAP), ang tanging grupong pabor sa panukala, ay ‘misinformed’ at ‘misled’ sa nasabing isyu.
“ACTOO represents the true voice of the trucking community, advocating for their rights and interests,” ayon kay ACTOO Chairman Ricky Papa.
“We urge the PPA to immediately scrap this burdensome and unnecessary system,” sambit pa niya. “It is time to focus on improving efficiency at the ports, not on adding to the cost of doing business.”
Noong nagdaang buwan, nagsagawa ang ACTOO, kasama ang Practicing Customs Brokers Association of the Philippines, Inc., at ng halos 300 truck units, ng mapayapang caravan at prayer rally sa harap ng tanggapan ng Philippine Ports Authority’s (PPA).
Layunin ng caravan at prayer convocation na makakuha ng atensyon para sa panawagan pagbasura sa PPA Administrative Order No. 04-2021 kasabay sa pagtanggal ng Trusted Operator Program-Container Registry and Monitoring System. RNT
