MANILA, Philippines – Handang pondohan ng state-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) ang mga proyektong may kina,aman sa enerhiya upang suportahan ang pagtugon ng bansa sa kakulangan ng kuryente.
Sa pahayag ng DBP nitong Biyernes, Mayo 19, sinabi ni DBP president at chief executive officer Michael de Jesus na nakaabang ang loan programs para sa energy sector na makatutulong sa mga kompanya upang mas palawakin ang kapasidad nilang pumasok sa power generation projects lalo na sa mga lugar sa bansa na napag-iiwanan na.
“DBP is ready to provide the necessary financial and technical assistance to all firms that are seeking new opportunities to meet the expanding energy requirements, especially in areas of the country where there is a resurgence of economic activity,” ani De Jesus.
Ang DBP ang ika-walong pinakamalaking banko pagdating sa assets na nagpopondo sa mga proyekto sa economic sectors, partikular na sa imprastruktura, logistics, micro, small at medium enterprises, social services at kalikasan.
Samantala, sa ilalim ng Philippine Energy Plan 2020-2040 ng Department of Energy, inaasahang papalo sa 6.6% ang peak power demand ng Pilipinas o 54,655 megawatts sa 2040, mula sa 15,282 MW na naitala noong 2020. RNT/JGC
