MANILA, Philippines- Nakatakdang ianunsyo ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang desisyon nito sa fare increase petitions para sa public utility vehicles (PUVs) sa susunod na linggo, ayon sa chairperson nitong si Teofilo Guadiz nitong Huwebes.
“Tuesday, definitely in the afternoon, after the hearing maglalabas na kami ng desisyon,” pahayag ni Guadiz sa isang briefing sa main office ng LTFRB sa Quezon City.
Sinabi ng LTFRB chief na humiling ang regulator sa petitioners ng karagdagang dokumento.
Dinidinig ng ahensya ang dalawang magkahiwalay na petisyon para sa UV fare increase.
Ang unang petisyon ay P2 fare increase para sa unang apat na kilometro ng biyahe sa sa iba’t ibang uri ng public transportation sa buong bansa na inihain ng Liga ng Transportasyon at Operators sa Pilipinas, Pagkakaisa ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide, Stop & Go Transport Coalition, at ng Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines.
Hirit naman sa isa pang petisyon ang provisional fare hike na P1 sa minimum fare habang pending pa ang main petition na P5 increase.
Inihain ito ng Pasang Masda, Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (ACTO) at Alliance of Transport Operators’ & Drivers’ Association of the Philippines (ALTODAP).
Ani Guadiz, paiiralin ang magiging desisyon ng LTFRB sa lahat ng tansport groups, “whether it is a provisional remedy of P1 or a P2 fare increase… it will be for the entire nation.”
“We will wait for the documents they will submit before we can decide,” dagdag niya.
Hinggil sa halaga ng aaprubahang fare increase, sinabi ni Guadiz na sasangguni ang LTFRB sa National Economic and Development Authority. RNT/SA
