MANILA, Philippines – Pumirma ng kasunduan ang Asian Development Bank at Department of Transportation nitong Huwebes, Pebrero 2 ng Transaction Advisory Services Mandate para sa ilang
public-private partnership projects sa sektor ng transportasyon.
Ani Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, ang ADB ang kanilang magiging katuwang, consultant at adviser para sa kanilang mga proyekto kabilang ang pagsasapribado sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport, North-South Commuter Railway at Metro Manila Subway.
“They will help us develop terms of reference for the privatization of the operations and maintenance of Manila International Airport and also for the North-South Commuter Railway, as well as the Metro Manila Subway project,” sinabi ni Bautista.
Kasama rin dito ang iba pang regional airports katulad ng sa Bacolod, Iloilo, Laguindingan, Bohol, at iba pa.
Nagpasa na ng kani-kanilang bids ang mga interesadong grupo habang ang iba ay humiling pa ng karagdagang panahon.
Ani DOTr Undersecretary TJ Batan, kailangan talaga nila ang tulong ng ADB upang makasunod sa international model sa pagsasagawa ng mga malalaking proyekto.
“To get the best operator that we can, we have to make sure the terms of reference natin maganda, yung structure ng project natin is international standards,” Batan said.
Ang ugnayan din nila sa ADB ay magpapabuti sa transportasyon sa bansa at makapagpapabuti sa daloy ng trapiko.
