Kasunod ng pagtatatanggol ni ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro sa mga makakaliwang grupo, sinabi ni Davao Rep. Paolo Duterte na isipin din nito at ipagtanggol ang mga magsasaka at mga taong napatay ng New People’s Army.
Ayon kay Duterte tama lamang na ipagtanggol nya ang kanyang ama na si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kasong isinampa ji Castro.
“It is imperative upon me to stand by my family and protect my family. I think anyone would do that. That’s where I’m coming from. You filed a case. Let the court look at the merits. Simple as that. Gaya ng sinabi ko, it is your right. But I’ve heard worse,” pahayag ni Duterte.
“I just wish that your passion to sensationalize this further is the same as your passion to protect the farmers and innocent victims who were killed by the NPA,” dagdag pa nito.
Una na din binatikos ni Castro ang magkapatid na Duterte na sina Paolo at VP Sara Duterte sa pag iwas sa tunay na mga isyu.
Inihalimbawa nito si VP Sara na nang kuwestiyunin sa confidential funds ang naging tugon ay kung sino ang kumukuwestiyon sa condidential funds ay kaaway ng kapayapaan habang ganun din sa kaso ni Rep Paolo, ani Castro nang sampahan nya ng kaso si dating Pangulong Duterte ay ibakusahan sya ng mambabatas na nagdadrama lamang.
“When Congress removed the confidential funds of VP Duterte and former president Rodrigo Duterte was asked about this, he said this was meant to kill communists and even threatened to kill me. When it was Rep. Paolo Duterte’s turn to comment on why I filed cases, he said that I should not make a drama out of this and now condemn the killings done by the NPA,” paliwanag nito.
Giit ni Castro, ang mga pahayag ng mga Duterte ay malinaw na iwas pusoy lang sa tunay na isyu.
“With this pattern, we can see that it seems the Dutertes do not want to answer the issues asked of them, and instead, they resort to gaslighting or red-tagging or blaming the victims,” dagdag pa ng lady solon.
Sinabi ni Rep Duterte na hindi dapat balat sibuyas ang mga mambabatas kung nababatikos ito subalit bwelta ni Castro na wala syang kasalanan at hindi mali na magsampa sya ng reklamo laban sa dating Pangulo bilang proteksyon sa kanyang sarili na binantaang papatayin.
