IT’S not just that it’s timely but it’s a must that earthquake drills are being undertaken also at shopping malls all over the country since these establishments are being frequented by the people and kudos to the SM management for initiating such moves that truly are beneficial to the public.
In particular, SM malls in northern Metro Manila led by the SM City Grand Central staged the drills just recently even before the strong Saranggani province magnitude 6.8 tremor would occur.
With some shop-goers, tenants and employees participated in the drills aimed at driving up awareness of the proper emergency response before, during and after an earthquake.
Evacuation and rescue drill simulations were also staged to increase and strengthen the mall’s Emergency Response Group preparedness and coordination among tasked units.
This includes carrying out first aid procedures to challenging mock-up situations, such as severely injured victims and traumatized customers.
Navotas Hospital levels up
The Department of Health once again recognized Navotas City Hospital as one of the Top 15 Level 1 hospitals in the country.
Dr. Spica Acoba, NCH Medical Director, and Dr. Roan Salafranca, Chief of Clinics, received the award during the 2023 DOH Hospital Star Awards.
“We will continue to draw inspiration from this milestone to meet the challenges and further provide excellent medical and health facilities to our constituents,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
“We are grateful to our hospital and healthcare workers for their unwavering commitment and compassion in caring for the health and wellness of Navoteños,” he added.
Lighting up Christmas season in Camanava
Since Yuletide season is just around the corner, SM shoppers are in to experience its enchanting spirit with the display of Christmas centerpieces that are dazzling and grandiose.
At Grand Central alone, now my family’s favorite hang-out, shoppers are greeted by a towering display of Color-Changing Glowing Led Letter Blocks carefully arranged to spell out the timeless greeting “Grand Holidays.”
Shoppers are then invited to bask in the joy of the season and create special moments with their loved ones.
