MANILA, Philippines – Inaresto ng mga awtoridad ang dating miyembro ng Army dahil sa paggamit ng pekeng pera sa isang tindahan sa Taguig.
Sa pahayag ng Southern Police District (SPD) nitong Sabado, Agosto 12, kinilala ang suspek na si Kevin Jhon Soncio, 30-anyos.
“[A] minor witness was in charge as cashier in the sari-sari store when the suspect paid P1000 as payment for one pack of cigarettes. Witness examined the said bill and he discovered that the said money was fake with the same serial number as the one he received on July 30, 2023,” sinabi ng SPD.
Kasunod nito, agad na humingi ng tulong ang witness sa Barangay Security Force ng Barangay Fort Bonifacio sa Taguig City.
Nagresulta ito sa pagkakaaresto kay Soncio.
Narekober mula sa suspek ang siyam na pekeng P1,000 bills, kasama ang 10 identification cards.
Sinabi rin ng mga awtoridad na nagpakilala umano si Soncio bilang miyembro ng Philippine Army, ngunit nang suriin ay napag-alaman na natanggal na pala ito sa serbisyo.
“[Soncio] will be facing complaints for violation of Article 168 or Illegal possession and use of False Treasury or Bank Notes and Other Instruments of Credit; Article 177 or Usurpation of Authority; and Art 171 or Falsification of Public Document of the Revised Penal Code,” sinabi ng SPD. RNT/JGC
