MANILA, Philippines – Pinaplano ng bansa na magluwas ng mga produktong Halal patungo sa mga Gulf countries at makibahagi sa $3.2 trillion global industry nito.
Ayon sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) nitong Martes, Pebrero 7, 26 Philippine exporters ng halal-certified food products, personal care at cosmetic products ang lalahok sa outbound business matching mission ng bansa sa Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries na inorganisa mula Pebrero 11 hanggang 25.
Ayon sa DTI, sakop ng naturang mission ang Manama, Bahrain mula Pebrero 11 hanggang 13, Kuwait City, Kuwait mula Pebrero 13 hanggang 14, at Doha, Qatar mula Pebrero 14 hanggang 16.
Pupunta rin ito sa Dubai, United Arab Emirates mula Pebrero 16 hanggang 25, sakto para sa Gulfood 2023, most extensive annual food and beverage sourcing event sa mundo.
“The Philippines is continuously strengthening its halal ecosystem to be able to better serve the growing global halal market. The mission aims to contribute to increased understanding of Philippine exporters on the halal market in the GCC, especially for the 15 exporters who are first time participants to the OBMM,” ayon kay DTI Trade Promotion Group Assistant Secretary Glenn Peñaranda.
Kabilang sa mga lalahok na kompanya sa naturang trade mission ay ang Cattleya & Rose Gourmet Foods Trading, Eng Seng Food Products, Francoeur Merchandising, Franklin Baker Company of the Philippines, Fruits of Life Inc, G5 International Corporation, Good Sense Food and Juices Corporation, Innovative Packaging Industry Corporation, Jamla Corporation, La Carlota Food Enterprise, Liwayway Marketing Corporation, Lorenzana Food Corporation, Mega Global Corporation, Mica By The Sea Company, Miguelitos International Corporation, Pasciolco Agri Ventures, Pearl Foods International Inc., Pixcel Transglobal Foods Inc, Sagrex Foods Inc., Sandbox Middle East, See’s International Food Mfg. Corp., Turn Fruit Trading DMCC, at Villa Socorro Farm.
Samantala, ang cosmetics at personal care exporters na magiging bahagi rin ng biyahe ay ang C and H Cosmetics Industry, Greenstone Pharmaceutical, Inc., at Jegen SWE Enterprises.
Kasama rin sa delegasyon ng Pilipinas ang LBC Solutions Middle East.
Ayon sa DTI, ang GCC market ay magsisilbing launchpad upang matulungan pa ang mga lokal na medium, small and micro enterprises reach international markets, lalo na ang halal exporters dahil sa unique market characteristics nito.
Noong 2021, nasa 61.48% ng Philippine exports sa GCC ay sa United Arab Emirates, sinundan ng Saudi Arabia sa 18.38% at Qatar sa 10.69% batay sa datos ng DTI. RNT/JGC
