MANILA, Philippines- Nanatiling opsyon ang expulsion bilang miyembro ng House of Representatives laban kay Negros Oriental Rep. Arnulfo Teves, ayon kay House Secretary General Reginald Velasco.
“Kasama yan sa mga possible actions under our House Rules but I cannot preclude the Committee on Ethics from making any decision,” paliwanag ni Velasco.
Ayon kay Velasco ang 60 araw na suspensyon laban kay Teves at matatapos sa Mayo 22, pagkaraan nito ay pag-aaralan ang posibleng kasunod na maaaring ipataw sa mambabatas sa patuloy nitong pag-AWOL sa kanyang tungkulin.
“We hope the Committee on Ethics will have some action on it. As you know, wala tayong precedent kasi dito. Wala pang nangyayari sa House na similar situation,” ani Velasco.
Anumang aksyon ng Kamara laban kay Teves ay nangangailangan ng 2/3 vote ng buong miyembro ng Kamara.
“It’s really up to the committee on ethics to submit their recommendations. And then it has to be voted upon by the plenary. So we hope that before the end of this session, there will be some action on the part of the Committee on Ethics and the plenary of the House of Representatives. As you know, it requires 2/3 para decisive yung action ng House,” dagdag pa ni Velasco.
Inaasahan na bago ang adjournment ng sesyon sa June 2 ay makapagpapalabas ng desisyon ang Kamara laban kay Teves. Gail Mendoza
