MANILA, Philippines – Binawi ng Bureau of Fire Protection-Quezon City Fire District (BFP-QCFD) ang Fire Safety Inspection Certificate (FSIC) sa childcare facility ng Gentle Hands Inc. (GHI) childcare dahil umano sa paglabag sa probisyon ng Fire Code of the Philippines.
Ang desisyong ito ng BFP-QCFD ay kasunod ng paglalabas ng cease-and-decist order ng
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) laban sa GHI batay sa reklamo na ang naturang bahay-ampunan ay
lumabag sa Republic Act 7610 o Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination.
Nakatanggap din umano ang DSWD ng ulat na bigong tumugon ang GHI sa minimum standards para sa residential facilities sa mga bata.
Kabilang sa mga paglabag na nakita ng DSWD ay ang kakulangan sa fire exit na nagsisilbing peligroso sa buhay ng mahigit 140 bata.
Dahil dito ay humiling ang DSWD sa BFP-Quezon City na magsagawa ng masinsinang fire safety inspection sa gusali ng GHI na matatagpuan sa 27 F. Castillo St., Barangay Bagumbuhay sa Project 4.
“GHI was found to have violated pertinent provisions of the revised implementing rules and regulations of RA 9514 or the Fire Code of the Philippines during said inspection resulting to the revocation of its Fire Safety Inspection Certificate,” sinabi ni Senior Supt. Aristotle Bañaga, acting Quezon City district marshal.
Ani Bañaga, may karapatan ang BFP na magbawi ng permit na ibinigay sa isang establisyimento o opisina na “found to have imperiled public safety.”
“Our office is strictly monitoring for compliance and corrections of the defects and deficiencies stipulated in the Notice to Comply (NTC), which we have immediately issued after the conduct of the said fire safety inspection,” sinabi pa niya.
Ang CDO ay bahagi ng authority, regulatory powers at responsibilidad ng DSWD upang maprotektahan ang karapatan ng mga bata sa lahat ng uri ng pagpapabaya, pang-aabuso, exploitation at iba pang kondisyon.
Rehistrado at lisensyado ng GHI ng s0ocial welfare and development agency (SWDA) ng DSWD na may License No. DSWD-SB-L-000052-2021 na ibinigay noong Agosto 12, 2021 at may bisa hanggang Agosto 13 2024. RNT/JGC
