MANILA, Philippines – KUMPIYANSANG inihayag ni Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno na magiging mas mabuti ang economic performance ng bansa sa second half ng taon.
“The second half performance of the economy will be much better than the first half,” ani Diokno sabay sabing “second half of growth will be faster than the first half.”
Ang ekonomiya na sinusukat sa pamamagitan ng gross domestic product (GDP) o kabuuang ‘value of goods and services’ na nalikha sa isang “specific period” ay bumagal ng 4.3% sa second quarter, dahilan upang ang first half 2023 GDP growth rate ay pumalo sa 5.3%, mababa sa target range ng gobyerno na 6% hanggang 7%.
“I think the third quarter growth will be better than the [second] quarter… In fact, that’s also the judgment of the IMF (International Monetary Fund) [that] the second half of growth will be faster than the first half,” ayon kay Diokno.
“Because historically also, the fourth quarter is where most infrastructure projects are done,” dagdag na pahayag nito.
Kailangan na lumago ang ekonomiya ng 6.6% sa second half ng taon para makamit ang lower-end ng target ng gobyerno. Kris Jose
