MANILA, Philippines – Pinahihintulutan ang mga mananampalataya na hawakan ang kamay ng isa’t isa o itaas ang kanilang kamay habang inaawit ang “Panalangin ng Panginoon”.
Sa inilabas na circular noong Biyernes, sinabi ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Liturgy (CBCP-ECL) na ang parehong kilos ay ‘liturgically accepted’ kasabay ng panalangin sa panahon ng Misa.
“We are, therefore, exhorted to exercise sincere respect for each other in the gesture we express during the prayer,” sabi sa circular na nilagdaan ni ECL chairperson Archbishop Victor Bendico.
Ang usapin ay kasama sa ilang mga tinalakay sa Conference’s 126th plenary assembly na ginanap sa Diocese of Kalibo noong weekend
Sa kabilang banda, suportado ni Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula ang pahayag ng ECL.
“Let us respect the decision of the faithful on the gestures they take, whether raised or joined hands or holding each other’s hands,” saad ng cardinal sa isang pahayag .
“This should be done in harmony with the nature of the prayer and in deference to others who are present in the celebration,” dagdag pa.
Sinabi ni Advincula na ang Panalangin ng Panginoon ay “hindi lamang isang pormula ng panalangin kundi isang programa ng buhay Kristiyano na nakasalig sa Mabuting Balita na ipinahayag, ikinabuhay, at ikinamatay ni Jesus.”
“This, therefore, demands from us the conversion of life that makes the will of the Father the foundation of our life. The fruit of this is our love of our brothers and sisters,” saad ni Cardinal. Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden
