MANILA, Philippines – Nakatakdang buksan sa Siargao Island sa Oktubre ang isang international cruise ship terminal.
Ayon sa Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), makatutulong ito na mas palakasin pa ang turismo sa bansa.
“Maraming nagre-request na mga cruise operator to go directly to Siargao,” ani PPA General Manager Jay Santiago sa briefing.
“We will break ground before the end of the year in a dedicated cruise terminal also in Coron, Palawan,” dagdag pa niya.
Ani Santiago, makatutulong itong maiwasan ang dagsa ng mga turista sa mga paliparan, lalo na tuwing peak season.
Maliban sa Siargao at Coron, target din na magkaroon ng ship terminals sa Currimao at Salomague sa Ilocos, Legazpi at Camiguin, Boracay, at Panglao, Bohol.
“Similar to the airports, we want to be able to build exclusively-dedicated cruise terminals na ang talagang focus niya is to accept foreign tourists. When they arrive, malinis, maaliwalas ang facility,” ayon pa kay Santiago. RNT/JGC
