MANILA, Philippines- Binuhay ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang paglaban sa illegal gambling at nagbabala sa parusang ipapataw sa mga tauhan nito na masasangkot sa illegal numbers game.
Inihayag ni PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda, Jr. na ang utos niya para sa pinaigting na kampanya laban sa illegal gambling ay bahagi ng kasunduan sa Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) na pangasiwaan ang lahat ng uri ng illegal gambling activities sa bansa.
“We will not tolerate the existence of illegal gambling activities that prey on the most vulnerable members of our society. Together with PCSO, we will deploy all necessary resources and implement stringent measures to put an end to this menace,” giit ni Acorda.
Bukod sa paglaban sa illegal gambling, sinabi ni Acorda na mahigpit din nilang ipatutupad ang umiiral na no-take at one-strike policies laban sa mga tiwaling pulis na dawit sa illegal gambling.
“The ‘One Strike and No Take Policy’ represents a pivotal element in this comprehensive strategy, ensuring strict enforcement of the Doctrine of Command Responsibility. This resolute stance reflects the PNP’s unwavering determination to eradicate illegal gambling and safeguard the welfare of the Filipino people,” pahayag ni Acorda.
“The one strike and no take policy represents a zero-tolerance approach, where any negligence or inaction will be met with swift consequences. With this strong stance, the PNP aims to leave no room for leniency in eradicating the illegal gambling menace,” dagdag niya.
Bahagi ng kampanya laban sa illegal gambling, aniya, ang pagpapakilos ng Regional/Provincial/City Anti-Illegal Gambling Special Operations Task Groups para palakasin ang implementasyon ng mga probisyon sa “PNP Anti-Illegal Gambling Campaign Plan: Operation High Roller.”
Nakatalaga ang specialized units sa pangangalap ng intelligence, pagsasagawa ng masusing imbestigasyon, at pagpapatupad ng strategic interventions, na magpapaigting sa laban sa bansa sa illegal gambling.
Sinabi ni Acorda na ang regional directors, provincial directors, district directors, city directors, chiefs of police at Police Community Precinct commanders na mapag-aalamang hindi epektibo at hindi nagsisikap na pigilan ang illegal gambling sa kanilang hurisdikyon ay sisibakin sa pwesto at kakasuhan ng administratibo sa ilalim ng Doctrine of Command Responsibility.
