MANILA, Philippines – Nakapaglaan na ang Kamara de Representantes ng P10 bilyon para matiyak ang maayos na sistema sa suplay ng tubig bago pa man dumating ang kinatatakutang El Niño phenomenon.
Ito ang inihayag ni House Committee on Appropriations Chairman at Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldy Co na aniya’y kabilang sa inisyatibo ng liderato ng Kamara.
“Even prior to the onset of the El Niño phenomenon, the Congress has allocated a significant budget of 10 Billion pesos in the 2023 GAA for the construction of solar-powered water supply systems across the country.” ayon kay Co.
Ito ay dahil si House Speaker Martin Romualdez aniya ay meron nang naunang pangako ukol sa pagkakaroon ng Solar-Powered Water Supply System sa may 60% o 40 milyong mga Pilipino upang magkaroon ng access ang mga barangay sa malinis na tubig na maiinom.
Banggit pa ni Co na sa ilalim ng liderato ni Romualdez ay nagkaroon ng mga panukalang tutugon sa hamon ng suplay ng tubig na ngayon ay kinakaharap ng bansa lalo na sa pagdating ng El Niño phenomenon.

Sa tulong aniya ng paglalagay ng sapat na pondo para sa proyekto ay matitiyak ang magandang serbisyo pagdating sa sistema ng suplay ng tubig.

Giit pa ni Co na ang pagkakaroon ng malinis na tubig na maiinom para sa publiko ay karapatan ng mamamayan at obligasyon ng gobyerno na ito ay maipagkaloob sa lahat.
Ito ay sa pamamagitan ng paglalagay ng alokasyon ng pondo para sa mga proactive measures at masigurong walang mamamayan na maiiwan na siyang pangunahing hakbang ng Kongreso.
