MANILA, Philippines – Pinasalamatan ng liderato ng Lakas-CMD si Vice President at Department of Education Secretary Sara Duterte sa serbisyong ibinigay nito sa partido maging sa pagtatatag ng Unity Team.
Reaksyon ito ng partido matapos ng pormal na kumalas si VP Duterte sa Lakas-CMD kasunod ng napaulat na namumuong iringan sa partido at sa liderato ng Malaking Kapulungan ng Kongreso.
“We thank Vice President Sara Duterte for the services she rendered to our party, the Lakas-CMD, as party chair, and for helping us build a Unity Team aimed at bringing meaningful change to Philippine society,” ayon sa inilabas na pahayag ni Rep. Jose “Joboy” Aquino II, na siya ring Secrretary – General ng Lakas-CMD.
Kasabay nito ay sinabi rin ng kongresista na nirerespeto ng partido ang desisyon ni Duterte at sa panawagan nitong patuloy na pagsuporta ng lahat ng political leaders si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
“As we respect her decision, we understand her reason for leaving the political party.
We also support her call for all political leaders to unite in support of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., and for all of us to work for the success of this administration for the benefit of our people.”
Dagdag pa ni Aquino na patuloy na isusulong ng Lakas ang paniniwalang ang pagkakaisa ang siyang susi sa pagbangon ng mga Pilipino mula sa kahirapan at masiguro ang magandang bukas.
“We continue to believe in our shared vision that only a country united can lift the Filipino people out of poverty and ensure a better future for generations to come.”
Sa kaniyang pagbibitiw bilang miyembro ng Lakas ay sinabi ni Duterte na “ I am grateful to all the party members for the support that also once demonstrated that unity is possible to advance our shared dreams for our fellow Filipinos and our beloved country.”
Dagdag pa ng pangalawang pangulo sa kaniyang inilabas na pahayag na “ I am here today because of the trust of the Filipino people in me to lead and serve them, and the country, and this cannot be poisoned by political toxicity or undermined by execrable political powerplay.”
Bago ang pagbibitiw ni Duterte sa Lakas-CMD ay naglabas rin si Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ng pagpapabulaan na sangkot umano siya sa isang binabalak na kudeta laban kay House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez na siyang pangulo ng Lakas.
Ani GMA, wala sa hangarin niyang muli na maging Speaker kasabay din ng kaniyang panawagan sa mga kapartido na patuloy na suportahan ang administrasyong Marcos.
“So it should be noted that being Speaker once more is no longer part of my political objectives. It has been my position ever since Speaker Romualdez was elected in the 19th Congress and I continue to urge my Lakas-SMD party mates to support our party president in that role.”
Noong 2018 ay nailuklok si GMA bilang Speaker ng Kamara nang patalsikin si Davao Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez bilang House Speaker. Meliza Maluntag
